Michael E. Lonich

Michael E. Lonich
Michael E. Lonich, managing partner of Lonich & Patton, LLP, has nearly 30 years of experience as a litigator, beginning his career representing a wide range of businesses and individuals in areas including business transactions and agreements, corporate formation and governance, incentive programs (equity and non-equity), and trial.  Mike draws upon this expertise to provide a full range of civil legal support to the Lonich and Patton’s business clients.

Throughout Michael’s professional career, he has focused his attention on assisting businesses meeting the growing challenges of regulation, consumer and labor laws. In the early 1980’s the growing retail (auto, marine, transportation) industry provided early business law success for Michael and his clients. Since that time, Michael has continued to maintain successful business relationships with many of those clients as well as attract a growing number of new clients that seek his counsel in the area of business law.

More recently, Michael and his supporting lawyers and staff have successfully met the contemporary challenges of shareholder takeover suits and complex business transactions for his business law clients.

Born in San Rafael, California in 1954, Michael grew up in the Santa Clara Valley having moved here with his family in the early sixties. After leaving the Valley for college and law school, Michael returned home to marry and raise a family. Along with his wife, Lisa, Michael is raising his three boys, Andrew, Ryan and Michael.  Together with the family hound, Crusader, they live in Saratoga where they are active in the community and their parish at Sacred Heart. Michael graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology and obtained his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1981.

Michael is a member of the State Bar of California, the Association of Defense Counsel and Santa Clara Bar Association, serving on the temporary judge and arbitrator panels of the Santa Clara County Superior Court. Mr. Lonich is admitted to practice before all California courts, including the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and the Federal District Court for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California.
